The past two years have been difficult for us individually and as a community. However, we have learned, adapted, changed, and created several opportunities, that made us stronger, flexible, and adapting to the changes.
Our SSX-2021 virtual conference was a true example of flexibility and adapting to the changes. In addition, SSX-India also focused on its mission of 'increasing awareness and developing the knowledge of DMPK/ADMET science by conducting online courses.
This year, I am extremely happy to announce our next big event, 7th Asia-Pacific ISSX meeting, as an on-site meeting, at Hotel Grand Sheraton, Bangalore, India from 29th January to 01st February 2023. Theme of this meeting is 'Innovative approaches in translational ADMET science for accelerating drug discovery and development'. In addition to an excellent scientific program, the event also provides a variety of opportunities for students and young researchers to showcase their scientific work in oral and poster presentations. It also helps them to seek guidance from mentorship program.
I am honored to be the conference chair for the last four years and excited that I get to participate in shaping it. If you too want to be part of the evolution, please do not hesitate to come forward to join our committee. We need your input and collaboration to create the future of our SSX-India together!

Greetings Colleagues and Friends,
We at ISSX are very pleased to announce the Asia-Pacific ISSX Meeting in 2023 is being co-hosted by SSX-India and will take place in Bangalore on January 29-February 1, 2023. This is the first time the AP-ISSX meeting will be hosted in India, and this reflects the growing community of excellent xenobiotic researchers in this nation. Thanga Mariappan has assembled a large team of colleagues from several nations in Asia, Oceania, and the U.S. to serve on the scientific organizing committee and they are assembling an excellent schedule of sessions on interesting and hot topics in our field. And of course, there will be poster sessions and social events with plenty of opportunity to meet informally and share knowledge and ideas. On a personal level, I am thrilled to have an opportunity to visit India, a place I’ve never been and have always wanted to experience. So, in addition to the good science, I’m looking forward to sampling a cuisine I’ve always enjoyed but not had in its true native country—and maybe I’ll even get a chance to see a Bollywood film in a real Indian movie theater instead of streaming it!
